Shipping ice cream is a complicated process with many moving pieces. And let’s be real, it takes moxie to use a perishable product to ship a perishable product 😅. Lucky for you, we’ve got some experience. We work diligently to get our ice cream to you. Here are some things we think you should know about the process.
How do we ship?
Our ice creams are handpacked into our signature, insulated Rococo shipping boxes with enough dry ice to keep the ice cream happily frozen into the evening of its delivery date.
We only ship on weekdays—no ice cream will be in transit during the weekends. Once your ice cream is shipped, you will be notified with a tracking number and estimated time of arrival. It is our priority to make sure your ice cream arrives frozen. If an adjustment is necessary you will be contacted via email before the shipment.
Where do we ship?
We can ship our ice cream to residential addresses in all 50 states. Please keep in mind that we are not able to ship to PO boxes. While we can certainly ship to businesses and commercial destinations, please note we cannot reship ice cream at our cost due to delivery delays caused by commercial locations being closed or delays in mailroom sorting. If you are shipping to a commercial address, we kindly ask that you verify business hours before shipping and alert the recipient that a perishable item is coming. If you need help, feel free to call us and we can help schedule a delivery date that works best for your shipment (207) 360-0804.
What do I need to know about arrival?
Please be available to greet your box of ice cream upon arrival. Open up your frozen treats immediately and place them into the freezer. As the ice cream has been shipped using dry ice, we recommend having a pair of work gloves or gardening gloves available for the removal of dry ice. Enjoy your special handcrafted treats, and don’t forget to share 😉
What’s the shipping schedule?
In general, orders that are placed Wednesday through Sunday will be shipped the following Monday. Orders placed Monday and Tuesday will be shipped Wednesday. Ice cream shipped within our ground zone will arrive one to two days after the shipping date. Ice cream shipped to the rest of the United States will be shipped with UPS 2-day air. During peak shipping times, ice cream will be shipped Monday through Thursdays as soon as orders are received.
What about shipping delays?
Unfortunately carrier-related shipping delays happen. Rest assured that no matter what happens in these cases, your order will be honored by us. Here’s the scoop: when we pass off your package to our shipping partners, any kind of delay can happen (and they do). A snowstorm in Texas, airline strikes, warehouse fires, holiday shipping backlogs, a global pandemic; we’ve seen it all and found solutions through all of it. We are dedicated to getting our ice cream to you, even when our shipping partners are experiencing disastrous delays. If you experience a carrier-related delay, we will happily reship to you at our cost. Please note: we cannot reship ice cream at our cost for orders placed with missing or incorrect shipping addresses that result in delays. Please triple-check all shipping information before submitting your order, so we can ensure our ice cream arrives in all its glory to the recipient.
What if my package is delayed?
If your ice cream has not arrived one day after your scheduled delivery date please reach out to us. We work very closely with our shipping partners to determine the cause of the delay and also try to intercept the spoiled product before it arrives. If the package does arrive past the scheduled delivery date it is a-okay to refuse delivery, as unforeseen shipping delays will resulted in a spoiled product, and no one wants to open that box 🤢
What if I want this to be a surprise?
This is a surprise you may need to spoil to prevent the surprise from spoiling! Everyone loves a surprise, but keep in mind, ice cream is a perishable product. If you are sending ice cream as a gift, please make sure your recipient will be available to receive their frozen treats. Once the package has shipped, the clock of its “frozenness” is ticking, and we are unable to intercept and save the package for delivery at a later date. Please note: We cannot reship ice cream at our cost for spoilage caused by packages arriving at empty homes.
Are there receipts in the box?
We do what we can to reduce waste, so your package will never contain any pricing or payment information. This stays between us. But we may send you a cute sticker from time to time.
What about bulk orders/group gifting?
Wanna throw a rad office party? Send ice cream to pals out of town? We’d be happy to assist your bulk shipping needs. Call us at (207) 360-0804 or email indulge@RococoIceCream.com and we will help you get the goods to your whole list.
Do you offer delivery service with Doordash?
No, please do not order our ice cream through Doordash. We do not have any affiliation with Doordash and your order will not be fulfilled. It is a scam. We do however offer our own local pick up. Pints can be ordered through our website and scheduled for pick-up at your convenience at our location in Wells, Maine.
What’s the Golden Spoon Collective?
The Golden Spoon Collective is a quarterly subscription box containing five pints. In March, June, October and December, members are introduced to new intriguing ice cream concepts and limited-time flavors that are generally unavailable in our scoop shops. Each box has a specific theme that is sure to introduce your tastebuds to a brand new culinary experience.

Yes, specific themes can be purchased for one shipment only or we offer a subscribe and save subscription model.
Can we choose which flavors will be in our subscription box?

What if I am allergic to specific foods I see in the upcoming pint club shipment?
We would be happy to switch out a flavor in the event you have dietary restrictions around any of our ice cream ingredients. However, please keep in mind that swapping out flavors impacts the theme, so we do not recommend the Golden Spoon Collective if recipients have many food allergies or food intolerances.
If I sign up now, will I be charged immediately?
Yes. Customers are charged for their first box (with shipping) when they sign up. All following boxes will be charged during the quarter that the box is sent out as recurring billing. We will notify you beforehand of the upcoming charge dates.

We will send out an email to all members a few weeks prior to shipping, letting you know the theme and flavors included in the upcoming box.
Can I pause or skip a collection?
